About me

I studied Fine Art (Painting) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa (1996-1999).

In 2000 I relocated to the UK and worked as a publications officer for the University of Oxford and then as a graphic designer for Earthwatch Institute. After having my second child, I went fully freelance, running my own graphic design business from my home in Oxford.

I have always been a painter… I work in watercolour and mixed media, in a loose, fun and playful style, with a focus on mark-making. My aim is to bring joy to the viewer, through the energy that the paintings convey, the beauty of the marks, and the subject matter.

I also make hand-painted patterns for the Home Decor market.

In 2007 I was selected for an Artist Residency at OVADA, Oxford, where I created and exhibited huge wall drawings.

In 2011 I had a solo painting show at the North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford.

I am a Top Teacher on Skillshare, my classes focus on creativity, drawing, painting and surface pattern design.

I teach art workshops and courses, as well as doing cover teaching at the Sunningwell School of Art.

I run an Art Club in my village, which meets every other week. I am particularly interested in the creative process, helping people overcome resistance to discover and develop their creative confidence.

I am a mother of four boys, aged 14, 12, and 7-year-old twins. My home studio/office doubles as family-HQ to keep on top of all the school emails, football kits, school dinners and homework!
